Supported formats and limitations

  • This tool does NOT guarantee compliance with any government, passport, visa or ID requirement. Official rules cover head size, background, lighting, recency and many other details that a crop tool cannot check. Always check the official requirements of the authority you are applying to.
  • The crop is a centred cover crop. If your head is not centred, crop the photo yourself first with the Photo Cropper and Resizer.
  • Print colours depend on your printer and paper; check a test print before printing many copies.
  • Animation is not preserved: only the first frame of an animated WebP is processed.
  • Limits: 20 MB per file, 100 megapixels. Unlimited uses, one file at a time, within those per-file limits.

Frequently asked questions

Will this photo be accepted for my passport?

This tool cannot promise that. It only produces the size and layout you choose. Check the official requirements of the issuing authority, including head size, background and lighting rules.

What does 300 DPI mean here?

Dots per inch for printing. A 35 ร— 45 mm photo at 300 DPI is 413 ร— 531 pixels, which is the pixel size a printer needs for that physical size.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. All processing runs in your browser. No image leaves your device.

What is the size limit?

20 MB per file and 100 megapixels. There is no limit on the number of images you may process, one at a time, within those per-file limits.
